Stratio Experience @ Big Things 2019

Feb 5, 2020

When you hear about a conference rebranded as Big Things, several different scenarios likely cross your mind. Just about everything fits in the Big Things box… However, once you step foot into the conference, with the largest cinema in the world playing host, you immediately know what it is all about.

After 7 editions, the event has evolved as much as technology has. Big Things is not a sectorial event about Big Data. It’s Big Data, AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain…and the list goes on. With 2000+ Attendees -from more than 500 companies and 19 different industries- , 35 Sponsors, 92 Talks and 120 Speakers, the new edition exceeded all expectations.

The Stratio experience

One more year, Stratio was one of the Platinum fidelity sponsors. We set up an interactive stand in order to show off our product. This one-of-a-kind experience completely immersed participants in sensory data.

Users were able to transform their data with our Business Data Layer by following three simple steps: selecting a sector, choosing an asset (data workflow, microservice, AI model, business report or business entity) and deploying it. To discover all about this unique experience, watch the video:

It’s all about Trusted Data

As for Stratio’s participation on stage, during the second day Óscar Méndez established the path in order to be able to compete in the technology playground while once again, focusing on trusted data. Nowadays it becomes fundamental to collect data but not all kinds of data will be valid to extract value for a business.

Additionally, Viktor Jacynycz, DevOps Developer at Stratio, focused on the end of the centralized era, encouraging assistants to distribute or decentralize! Eduardo Sánchez Carballo, Digital & AI Solutions Consultant at Stratio, together with Carlos Javier Alía Cifuentes, Transmission Management Technician at Red Eléctrica España, brought to stage all about Disrupting Energy Investment, where they showcased how Red Eléctrica de España decided three years ago to start an ambitious plan to transform its operations and processes from the inside. Last but not least, Sergio Ortega, Senior UX designer at Stratio, and Yusef Hassan, UX consultant, introduced a quite disruptive session to talk about the UX Designing for data: Improving the UX in the design of Big Data & AI products.
